Location & Maps
The famous Hervey Bay foreshore provides the perfect natural arena for the Hundy Festival. It all takes place a stone’s throw from the water’s edge between Torquay Beach, Gatakers Bay and Scarness Park.
The Scarness foreshore provides the perfect staging point for the Hundy Festival. The race Expo and registration takes place in Scarness Park at the junction of the Esplanade and Queen’s Road, which is also the finish line for the triathlon and aquabike events.
Transition is in the car park adjacent to Scarness Park.
All aquabike competitors use the swim and ride, then run out of transition as marked following the run course, but taking a right u-turn up the finish chute about 200m into the run course
Cut off Information
Swim Cutoff
1 hr after teams hit the water allowing AG athletes 1hr plus a bit to complete the 2k swim.
Bike Cutoff
You need to be heading out onto the last lap of your ride (18km left) by 10:45am. This is due to the road being re-opened at 11:30am. If you are removed from the bike course at this point you will be classified as a DNF.
Run Cutoff
We allow 3.0 hours after bike cutoff for the run (2:30pm). To allow us time to pack up, you must have started your last 6km run lap by 1:30 pm. Please be mindful that if you are a slow runner, some packing up of the race precinct may have started while you are still going. We won’t ever pull down the finish chute however until everyone who wants to finish has finished.
